Add CDNs and setup balancing

Quortex Switch is designed to intelligently distribute viewers across your available CDNs.

For each audience segment defined in the decision tree, you can configure:

  • Which CDNs are used
  • How traffic is balanced between them

Balancing decisions can be based on:

  • Capacity
  • Quality of Experience (QoE)
  • Pricing or Commitments

Adding a CDN to a Segment

To add a CDN to a segment:

  1. Click “Add CDN” and select a CDN from the list.
  2. To create a new CDN, click “+ Create CDN” and define its parameters.

Add a CDN

You can add as many CDNs as needed for each segment.

Once all CDNs are added, you can configure how traffic is distributed between them.

Configuring CDN Balancing

After adding CDNs to a segment, define the traffic distribution by assigning a percentage to each CDN.

📌 Important: The total percentage across all CDNs must equal 100%.

Using a CDN as Fallback

You can configure a CDN as a fallback by setting its balancing percentage to 0%.

This means:

  • The CDN will not receive traffic under normal conditions.
  • It will remain available to the player as a backup.
  • If all other CDNs fail, the fallback CDN will be used automatically.
