# Add CDNs and setup balancing

**Quortex Switch** is designed to intelligently distribute viewers across your available CDNs.
For each audience segment defined in the decision tree, you can configure:
* Which CDNs are used
* How traffic is balanced between them
Balancing decisions can be based on:
* **Capacity**
* **Quality of Experience (QoE)**
* **Pricing or Commitments**

### **Adding a CDN to a Segment**
To add a CDN to a segment:
1. Click **“Add CDN”** and select a CDN from the list.
2. To create a new CDN, click **“+ Create CDN”** and define its parameters.

You can add **as many CDNs as needed** for each segment.
Once all CDNs are added, you can configure how traffic is distributed between them.

### **Configuring CDN Balancing**
After adding CDNs to a segment, you can define the **traffic balancing** by assigning a **percentage or a capacity** to each CDN.

### **Using a CDN as Fallback**
You can configure a CDN as a **fallback** by setting its balancing percentage to **0%** or moving to the bottom of the per capacity balancing CDNs list.
This means:
* The CDN will not receive traffic under normal conditions.
* It will remain available to the player as a **backup**.
* If all other CDNs fail, the fallback CDN will be used automatically.
